About me

Skin detox

I love products, I can't get enough of them! However I have always suffered with oily skin and in my late 20's I have really had enough. I read an article in Elle magazine about detoxing for the skin and was intrigued. It sounds obvious however simplifying the products used every day could help. Dr  Terry Loong claimed that the use of moisturiser every day is causing the connection of our outer layer skin and deepest layer to become broken therefore our deepest layer is producing serum and our outer layer is still thinking it needs moisture resulting in an overload. So I decided to give this a go.

Week 1
The products suggested were a cleanser and a serum. I didn't go out and buy anything different to what I normally use so I could really compare results. During the first week my skin felt quite tight and dry.

Week 2
Although not as dry my skin feels a little tight every now and again. I have noticed I am a little less oily.

Dr XX claims that it will take 4 weeks to feel the full benefit therefore I will do a full review after 4 weeks.

Winter skin

Winter plays havoc with my skin especially on my legs they get so dry! There is one product I will always go to and that's Liz Earle's Nourishing Botanical Body Cream. It instantly sooths my dry skin and is beautiful to use.

The essential oils give the Body Cream such a beautiful smell that I could never get bored of. Don't be misled by "Body Cream" either, even though it is thick and creamy it sinks into the skin so quickly. It isn't on the cheap side but I find it lasts a long time and you will find you need to apply it a lot less frequently than other body moisturisers.

First Post

For my first post I wanted to give a big thanks to my friend Alex Cooke http://blog.cookiescooking.co.uk/ as she planted the seed for me to create my own blog. Its also Alex's birthday today, Happy Bithday! I have been following many blogs but never thought it was something I could do myself. I make and create a lot of things and really love to bake so with my hobbies and profession I wanted to create a lifestyle blog and share all that goes on in my world especially as I have just moved to London and see so many exciting things for the first time!
I called my blog Just Beth as my name is just Beth, its not short for anything and I have to explain that to most people eventually so it has become my little quip. I hope you enjoy reading!
